Chef Nirasha has a passion for food and a love of the farm to table approach! Founded in 2013, The Food Liaison is a community kitchen that brings locally sourced food, sustainable business practices, chefs and farmers, as well as K-12 schools, corporate and small businesses all together through their CATERING, lunch COUNTER, and cooking CLASSES. They manage and cater Food and Beverage Programs at local corporations, which has them feeding an average of 1,000-4,000 meals per day.

The award was set up to recognize and financially support an outstanding new business founded by a woman entrepreneur who is creating value and job opportunities in her new endeavor in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. The winner is selected by the donors to this Award, who are themselves successful entrepreneurs. All the winners of the Spirit of Entrepreneurship™ Awards who have been in business five years or less are eligible for the SB Entrepreneurs Giving Back Award. In 2018 the donors selected Nirasha, for her passion and commitment to using locally sourced food and sustainable business practices, as well her support of the community.
